We are in search of a Lead Machine Learning Engineer to become a part of our remote team.
Your role will involve contributing to the design, development, and operation of the ML pipeline utilizing industry best practices.
Your responsibilities will encompass designing, developing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing ML pipeline steps. You will also hold ownership and contribute to the design and implementation of ML prediction endpoints. A significant part of your role will involve collaborating with System Engineers to set up the ML lifecycle management environment and enhancing coding practices.

Responsibilities
- Contribution to the ML pipeline's design, development, and operation based on best practices
- Designing, creating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing ML pipeline steps
- Ownership and contribution to the design and implementation of ML prediction endpoints
- Partnering with System Engineers to configure the ML lifecycle management environment
- Development of specifications, documentation, and user guides for created applications
- Enhancement of coding practices and repository organization within the science work cycle
- Establishment and configuration of pipelines for projects
- Ongoing identification of technical risks and gaps, formulating mitigation strategies
- Cooperation with data scientists to bring predictive models to production, understanding the models’ scope and purpose, and creating scalable data preparation pipelines
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in programming languages, ideally Python, coupled with robust SQL knowledge
- A demonstrable history of leading and mentoring a team of engineers
- Documented MLOps experience (Sagemaker, Vertex, or Azure ML)
- Intermediate proficiency in Data Science, Data Engineering, and DevOps Engineering
- A track record of at least one project delivered to production in an MLE role
- Expertise in Engineering Best Practices
- Hands-on experience in implementing Data Products using the Apache Spark Ecosystem (Spark SQL, MLlib/SparkML) or alternative technologies
- Familiarity with Big Data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Cassandra, GCP BigQuery, AWS Redshift, Apache Beam, etc.)
- Proficiency with automated data pipeline and workflow management tools, such as Airflow, Argo Workflow, etc
- Experience with various data processing paradigms (batch, micro-batch, streaming)
- Practical experience working with one of the major Cloud Providers such as AWS, GCP, and Azure
- Hands-on experience integrating ML models into complex data-driven systems
- DS experience with Tensorflow/PyTorch/XGBoost, NumPy, SciPy, Scikit-learn, Pandas, Keras, Spacy, HuggingFace, Transformers
- Experience with various types of databases (Relational, NoSQL, Graph, Document, Columnar, Time Series, etc.)
- Fluent English communication skills at a B2+ level
Nice to have
- Practical experience with Databricks MLOps-related tools/technologies like MLFlow, Kubeflow, TensorFlow Extended (TFX)
- Familiarity with performance testing tools like JMeter or LoadRunner
- Understanding of containerization technologies like Docker
