Responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-end delivery of services to clients, including project implementation, system integration, training, and ongoing support. Ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as the primary point of contact for service-related matters. Understand client needs, address concerns, and manage expectations to ensure customer satisfaction and retention
- Design and oversee the integration of the Epic system with other healthcare systems, such as laboratory information systems, radiology systems, and billing systems. Ensure seamless data exchange and interoperability
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into robust, scalable, and efficient Epic System solutions
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate Epic modules, features, and functionalities
- Provide architectural guidance and oversight for Epic System software implementation projects
- Identify performance bottlenecks, conduct performance analysis, and recommend solutions to optimize the Epic system's performance. Conduct system capacity planning to accommodate future growth and scalability
- Implement and maintain quality assurance processes and standards to ensure the delivery of high-quality services. Conduct regular audits, assess performance metrics, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure the security and privacy of patient health information (PHI) within the Epic system. Define and implement security controls, participate in security audits, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, such as HIPAA
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field
- Extensive experience (8+ years) working as an architect in the healthcare industry, with a focus on Epic EHR system architecture
- Healthcare & Epic System certifications, such as Epic Certified Architect or certified in specific modules are desirable
- In-depth knowledge and expertise in Epic system modules, including EpicCare Ambulatory, EpicCare Inpatient, Epic Willow, Epic Cadence, and other relevant modules
- Strong knowledge of healthcare technology solutions and their implementation processes
- Strong understanding of healthcare industry standards, such as HL7, FHIR, ICD-10, and CPT coding
- Proven track record of successfully designing and implementing large-scale Epic system projects, including system integrations and performance optimizations
- Experience with cloud technologies, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, and their application in healthcare environments
- Knowledge of security best practices and regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, HITECH, and GDPR
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
