Responsibilities
- Participate in the month-end close and tax activities
- Review and prepare journal entries into the local accounting software (Contpaqi)
- Create recurring journal entry templates (Macro excel file)
- May work with external or internal consultants or auditors to provide required information and ensure proper record keeping for historical purposes
- Control of Fixed assets and prepayments
- Download and Associate xml files to all expense’s entries in MX books
- Strong knowledge of electronic accounting compliance of Mexico
- Review and control of tax requirements of Mexican invoice (CFDI 4)
- Control and review of Employee reimbursements
- Support to senior accountant and accountant manager to ensure process comply SOX controls
- Support to senior accountant with tax compliance, government, and statutory regulations
- Knowledge of annual tax return determination, this role will support the preparation of annual and informative returns
- Knowledge of annual tax informative returns
- Participate in all monthly tax compliance
- Submit VAT and CIT refunds to SAT
- Experience on tax requirements, mostly for VAT tax
- Elaborate files to submit Informative return with third parties (DIOT)
- Support to complete and submit different informative return during the fiscal year
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or equivalent
- Minimum of 4 years working experience as an Accountant (preferences accounting firm, Big4)
- Finance/Accounting background
- Knowledge of local taxes and preferable international taxes
- Accounting/reporting under US GAAP and Mexican regulation
- Analytical and IT skills
- Knowledge in Mexican legislation (basic federal taxes income tax, VAT, withholding taxes, payroll taxes)
- Knowledge of tax compliance, informative returns, due dates of federal and state taxes
- SAP experience a plus but not required
- Intermediate to advance level in excel (formulas, Pivotables)
- Experience in working independently
- Good English level (Intermediate level at least)
