We are looking for a DBA with abilities to help architect and maintain our database infrastructure and to assist our engineering teams to efficiently use our database layers. The database is hosted in AWS, and we use Aurora MySQL. Additionally, we use DocumentDB, and MS SQL.
This role is located in our Gdansk office. We offer flexible hybrid model and relocation possibilities within Poland.

Responsibilities
- Participate in roadmap discussions and identify key areas for database improvements in the product and incorporate these goals into development initiatives. Implement, update, and improve our current database infrastructure typically using Terraform and AWS native tools
- Monitor and examine query execution plans; tune queries, indexes, and stored procedures to ensure most effective use of resources
- Review and recommend database physical structure and functional capabilities to development teams, and optimize database configuration parameters
- Follow maintenance requirements and implement in a “no downtime” scenario
- Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards
- Provide guidance and direction to other lower-level analysts and developers
- Document processes and procedures when appropriate
Requirements
- 6+ years of overall database administration experience, 4+ years MySQL
- Working knowledge of ANSI SQL and MySQL specific
- Experience being part of a production, 24x7 environment
- Strong technical and analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret written or verbal technical specifications
- Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with teams throughout the organization
- Ability to operate with ownership, be a self-starter, and have strong attention to detail
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or other related discipline or equivalent experience
Nice to have
- DocumentDB (or Mongo) administration
- Liquibase
- Programming languages and and commonly used frameworks (e.g. Python, Groovy, Java, Spring-boot, Hibernate ORM)
- Experience with other SQL databases (e.g. MSSQL, Oracle, Postgres)
