Head of Azure Cloud Solution Architecture London, UK

Responsibilities

• Organizational leadership:
  • Build and lead the team of AZURE experts serving your target geography and industries
  • Ensure continuous development of Cloud capabilities — people development, onboarding new products and services, developing collateral etc
  • Facilitate practice growth in UK through continuous recruitment, upskilling and reskilling team members
• Business leadership:
  • Drive EPAM's AZURE go-to-market strategy — organize and participate in various events, do publications and presentations within and beyond the organization
  • Work with EPAM Sales and Account management team to achieve practice and regional business plan and customer acquisition targets
  • Engage clients with varying degrees of maturity at the CxO level to lead innovation and the development of strategy, helping customers drive their enterprise-wide Cloud transformation agenda
  • Participate in the entire cycle of pre-sale activities, including RFP processing, proposal development, and direct communications with potential clients
  • Maintain a strong understanding of industry trends and best practices
• Technology leadership:
  • Serve as an AZURE evangelist, consult and provide technical guidance on AZURE solutions design, creating a unified strategy for AZURE cloud transformation governance, automation, security, implementation, and operations
  • Enable AZURE journey, create business cases, making the Cloud dream become reality
  • Design and prototype AZURE solutions, create solution architecture documents covering profound technical aspects of the implementation
  • Conduct AZURE solutions architecture review and create audit reports
  • Service design and continuously improve our methodology and consulting offering
  • Lead implementation of the solution from establishing project requirements and goals, to solution go-live
  • Lead the client through the technical and organizational challenges of AZURE transformation, creating thought leadership on AZURE solutions and hybrid clouds
  • Work with EPAM’s architecture teams, sales/pre-sales teams, account managers, heads of business units and EPAM competency centres, providing technical guidance and solution designs
  • Serve as internal trusted advisor, ensuring internal product management, and managing access to early release programs and product roadmaps
  • Stay abreast of current and emerging trends, unique opportunities and challenges of the space/markets and geographies in which the clients operate, and how it affects clients’ business and initiatives
  • Communicating with and managing business stakeholders to understand context and set strategic direction
  • Chair and lead meetings, such as workshops, reviews and governance bodies

Requirements

• An engineer/architecture background and an ability to deep dive into technical details is key as all our Director level+ employees can look at the finer technical aspects when required
• History of successful Cloud migration to Azure and hybrid/private Cloud
• Strong hands-on experience in managing a complete set of activities related to the project delivery in a company such as SOW negotiation, project initiation, client management, project delivery and execution
• Deep understanding of private, public and hybrid cloud architecture, main building blocks, workload types, migration patterns and tools
• Grasp of SDLC processes (Agile, DevOps), cloud operation and support (ITIL) service delivery with hands-on ability to implement best practices or suggest improvements
• Good exposure to Agile software development methodologies and DevOps practices such as Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Continuous Integration (CI), and automated deployment
• Familiarity with highly scalable, performant, and mission-critical architectures
• Ability to lead the Azure capability in UK, building and enhance long lasting client relationships
• Confident in expressing points-of-view, making recommendations, and presenting analysis and recommendations up to board level
• Ability to suggest competitive and innovative technical decisions, get client buy-in and deliver commitments
• Strong communication skills, solutions selling skills and ability to present complex technical issues to both business and technical audiences
