DESCRIPTION


We are looking to strengthen our Data Practice by hiring technically a hands-on Big Data Delivery Manager to join our Paris team and deliver end to end client projects. These are high profile and visible roles within both EPAM and onsite with our clients where you will have a high degree of flexibility to own and enhance the technical landscapes.

You will work closely with the EPAM leadership data teams and get involved in pre-sales activity with potential new clients as our business continues to expand.

The Big Data Delivery Manager will be accountable for the overall project delivery, client satisfaction and management of expectations while ensuring that the work is on strategy, on time and within budget. You will be working alongside a globally renowned and award-wining Design, development and technology teams who are passionate about what they do and how they do it. To play a key role building strong business / technology relationships, taking a ‘hands on’ approach to define and deliver Embodying and driving a culture of continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Design data analytics solutions by utilising the big data technology stack
  • Hands-on delivery management covering the full project initiation and life cycle: lead management, qualification for the bid/financing, drive solutioning and staffing, client management, delivery and execution governance
  • Running multiple delivery streams and clients, to ensure governance at top management level
  • Being accountable for delivery from financial, sourcing, development and business perspectives
  • Hands-on technology practitioner who is able to suggest innovative solutions to business problems/processes that leverage technology to provide marketing differentiation, efficiency improvements, and better user experiences
  • Participates in new business development and discovery led projects, drive preparation of customer proposals and statements of work from delivery perspective
  • Manage customer expectations and relationship. Manage high-level client relationships, looking for opportunities to up/ cross-sell products and services through relationship management
  • Work closely with multi-disciplined teams of product owners, architects, engineers and quality assurance to drive estimates, delivery plans and retrospectives. Identify and manage engagement risks and flag major issues early
  • Hands-on management of delivery stream along with management of a team of Technology Delivery Managers - providing coaching, mentoring and development support to drive up delivery capability across the department
  • Get involved in engaging new clients to further drive EPAM business in the big data space

Requirements

  • Strong ‘hands-on’ experience as a Big Data Delivery Manager with a solid design background with Java, Scala, or Python
  • Experience delivering data analytics projects and architecture guidelines
  • Experience in big data solutions on premises and on the cloud (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud), have hands on experience mapping big data components to particular cloud services
  • Production project experience in at least one of the big data technologies
  • Batch processing: Hadoop and MapReduce/Spark/Hive
  • NoSQL databases: Cassandra/HBase/Accumulo/Kudu
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodology, Scrum in particular
  • Experience in direct customer communications and pre-selling business-consulting engagements to clients within large enterprise environments
  • Experience working within a consulting business and pre-sales experience would be highly attractive
  • Proven experience in driving large-scale transformational initiatives, ideally data-driven initiatives in large enterprises impacting both organizational and technological components of an organization
  • Have hands-on experience in major project management methodologies and an experience in applying mixture of these methodologies aimed to success of a customer
  • Experience in building data-centric and data-driven delivery team and solutions. Proven experience in driving scalable enterprise data and analytic initiatives
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, MBA or equivalent business experience preferred
  • Self-motivated, multitasking, reliable to deliver on time, a quick-thinker, be able to work in a fast-paced work environment
