Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable back-end systems using Java, focusing on high-performance solutions for the innovation hub’s projects
• Implement efficient and reliable data storage solutions, working with SQL and NoSQL database systems to manage and manipulate large datasets
• Collaborate with front-end developers and UX designers to ensure seamless integration of user-facing elements with server-side logic
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code adhering to best software development practices
• Participate in an Agile/Scrum environment to effectively manage time and resources across multiple projects and meet critical deadlines
• Develop APIs that support front-end client and mobile applications, ensuring strong functionality and optimization
• Conduct thorough unit, integration, and system testing to identify and resolve bugs, malfunctions, and performance issues
• Optimize application for maximum speed, scalability, and security, frequently updating and modifying systems as necessary
• Communicate technical details, challenges, and solutions effectively with non-technical team members and stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with data protection and security protocols, applying best practices in secure coding to protect sensitive information
• Support the creation and deployment of real PoCs in the Chinese market, contributing insights that could be beneficial for adapting and implementing in European markets

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related disciplines
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in software engineering and development
• Expert level of knowledge of Core Java, Spring ecosystem, experienced in developing Restful microservices, advanced knowledge of one of these areas: JavaScript, Big Data or Cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure)
• Has experience in setup or enhancement of development processes according to best engineering practices to ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions
• Experienced in designing complex and highly scalable, flexible system architecture from scratch, and ensure its implementation in a new project
• As a decision-maker, having played architect, tech lead or project technical owner role with leading a team of 10+ engineers
• Experience in pre-sales and discovery activities being able to present technical solutions to the customer
• Upper Intermediate level (CEFR B2+) or higher of spoken and written English
