EPAM is looking for a Systems Engineer to lead a team of highly skilled and engaged engineers and contribute to overall solution architecture. Apply now to join our rapidly growing Cloud practice in the Netherlands!

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure and applications on AWS using infrastructure as code and configuration management tools
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to streamline deployment, monitoring, and scaling processes
  • Implement and manage Kubernetes clusters, including configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting
  • Collaborate with software development teams to integrate continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines into the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Implement infrastructure as code principles and practices using tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation to automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration
  • Maintain and improve configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef to ensure consistent and reliable system configurations across environments
  • Monitor system performance and proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks, scalability issues, and other system-related problems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify infrastructure requirements, provide technical guidance, and support infrastructure-related projects
  • Conduct periodic security audits and implement necessary measures to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of the infrastructure
  • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in DevOps and SRE domains and recommend improvements to existing systems and processes

Requirements

  • Deep knowledge / production experience with AWS. AWS certification is a plus
  • Strong understanding SDLC and typical software development practices / methodologies
  • Experience developing automation scripts, tools and services using one or more programming / scripting languages: Python, Go, JavaScript, Groovy, Bash
  • Production experience with microservices, containers and container orchestration tools, preferably Kubernetes
  • Expertise in infrastructure as code principles and experience with tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
  • Knowledge of observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack
  • Ability to propose, describe and defend technical solutions and make data-driven decisions
  • Experience working at the lead position, driving the team and providing guidance, assessing and estimating tasks and technical stories
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze and resolve complex issues
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment and work effectively in cross-functional teams
